For Ammongas, it was about testing if the company’s patented stripper-absorber process, which was used to separate gasoline vapours in pure gasoline and air, was also able to separate biogas into pure methane and CO₂.
As expected, the plant worked from day one, and has since been used by Ammongas for testing and optimising different absorption media and controlling methods. It was on this plant that the ability to handle raw biogas without precleaning, even with thousands of ppm H₂S, was developed.
