Allen Farm
Project Introduction
Located in Cayuga, New York, Allen Farm is a dairy farm with a biogas flow of 500 standard cubic feet per minute (800 Nm3/hour).
The gas, derived from biogas from dairy manure, is first separated into CO2 and CH4 (methane). The methane is then upgraded to renewable natural gas (RNG), which is compressed and transported directly from the site to a fueling station.
Renewable natural gas is an alternative to traditional fossil fuels produced from methane, which is emitted by the decomposition of organic matter. Instead of releasing the methane as a greenhouse gas, it is applied as a fuel source, offsetting the use of natural gases.
